I know that lately my posts have been filled with drama, but this is the worst!
While walking home from school some woman was speeding through a parking lot that my children cross thru and hit him trapping him under the car.
It took five men to lift it off of him and get him out. His older sister was holding his hand when the woman took him our of her grasp.
I need your prayers! He is doing better than excpected and has only suffered a broken leg and some severe road rash. He doesnt remember what happened as of yet.
To me it does not matter what religion you pray in or hold you thoughts in, but please think of my son in a possitive way.
My computer crashed on me so I will keep you informed from a friends house, and needless to say, I will probably not be in Chicago to meet you all.
I am getting ready to go back to the hospital to be with him now, the nurses made me take a short break. I knew that I had to let you all know what the dope is on why I have been scarce.
I can’t imagine what you are going through.
My thoughts are with you and your son.
All the best.
How terrible. I hope that he does well, and will be home soon. Remember to take of yourself too. I’ll remember you in my prayers.
My hopes and prayers are with y’all too. Keep us posted.
What a terrible thing to have happen. Best of luck.
And remember, when the lights are flashing, SLOW DOWN!!!
Oh my God, that’ is terrible! I don’t really know what to say except I hope the jerk driver gets some serious jail time and gets his/her ass sued off. Best wishes and prayers for you and your son!
MSK
Kricket,
Thank God he’s okay.
Hope your nerves are okay! With the collective minds around here, I am sure he will be up and at em in no time!
Your are in our thoughts.
When I was young I was run over much the same way.
I was in a bit of pain and only remmber brief bits of it.
Kids are quick healers.
My prayers are with you and your son.

I hope your kid has a speedy recovery, and that you and your family are doing well. It sounds like he was lucky not to be injured more seriously…
I’m with MSK-- I hope the driver has to answer for this. Bless you and the kids, Kricket. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery and return to home for your son.
Best wishes Kricket. You and your family are in my prayers.
Oh my gosh!
I pray for a speedy recovery for your son, Kricket.
Please keep up posted.
Kricket, I’m so sorry this happened and so grateful it wasn’t worse. There couldn’t be anything more terrifying for a parent. Kids DO heal fast, it will take a while for his fear to fade–and your memory of the fear will last much longer.
If good thoughts help, I’m beaming comfort, healing and peace to you and your boy.
Please keep in mind I’m just across the river from you. You’re running eight ways for Sunday; could I run over some food? You don’t have time to cook, but stressed people need to eat. Some home-cooked meals, a few cakes, etc. can help keep the family fires stoked. Or anything else I can do? Run? Fetch? Do some laundry? Some house cleaning?
Please email me; I’m fortunate enough to be a Doper within reach. You’re one river/bridge and a few piddlin’ miles away. You name it; you got it. Too many SD’ers have gone though major awfulness when all I could offer was words.
But most of all, sincere thanksgiving that your boy is alive and he’ll be fine.

Yikes! I’m so sorry to hear about this. I hope that your son recovers quickly; you’ll be in my prayers. Poor kid!

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Keep us updated.
I, too, will be keeping your son in my prayers, Kricket. And you, too.
Kricket, I’m so sorry about your son! All of you will be in our prayers, and as what has already been said, please keep us up to date, okay??
The best thing is, this is so much worse for you and your husband, that pretty soon your son will see this as an ‘adventure’, as incredible as it seems now! Take care of yourself!
Prayers for a complete recovery for both momma and son ( and sister too!)
Kricket, I and mine are thinking of you and yours.
Goodness gracious! How awful! My thoughts are with you and your son.
Tell him that there are a bunch of Dopes out there pulling for him.
