60 Minutes hosts blast interviewing Actor/Actresses

So… are they saying they don’t like interviewing actors/actresses?

slut du jour

Heh.

Slut du jour is pretty funny all on it’s own, but imagining Morley Safer saying it is even funnier.

I agree. I read this peice this morning and nodded my understanding and thanks. The interviews can only be so interesing, after all. The stars are just people with a lot of money. What they do in entertaining, but not special.

Sucking up air time on a heavy news program with interviews of folks who have nothing to do with anything based in reality is pretty stupid.

Though considering the crap most people tend to watch these days that’s makes it on par with everything else.

Celebrity interviews aren’t always bad. One of them even inspired a thread all its own. (Though, admittedly, it wasn’t the most active thread of all time.)

I reckon my opinion regarding celebrity interviews is pretty common amongst the dopers: If the celeb is somehow related to the subject, I’ll check it out.

In other words, I’m interested in what Kevin Smith thinks about Gigli. I don’t really need to know what he thinks about gun control.

Ya gotta figure though, from the celebs point of view, it’s got to be annoying answering the same questions over and over again. True, they get paid sh*tloads of money, but it’s got to get to a point were it really grates on you.

Considering Safer’s pieces he has done on modern art, the “slut du jour” comment is perfectly in character for him. But it is pretty funny, I may have to borrow it.

I admit my heart sinks a bit when I see the opening of 60 Minutes and I see that one of the stories is a celebrity puff piece. I watched the George Lucas segments before Episode I came out like a good little fanboy, but kept wondering “Why is this on 60 Minutes?”

Even crap like NBC’s Dateline seems cheaped by the Access Hollywood pieces and reporters turning up on there. Pat O’Brien makes my short list of people who may possibly be the antichrist.

Hey, Slut Du Jour is a fine actress and doesn’t deserve to have her name dragged through the mud like this!

Who cares?

It would put Larry Zeiger(King) out of business.

Most of the time when an actor/actress is interviewed is the only time I watch 60 Minutes, or 20/20, because the news shows are so boring, or uninteresting.

Man. And I thought this thread was going to be about me.

sigh
