I really don’t like her reporting, but that was because she did a few reports that made her sound like a teenage or college age girl. So no, you aren’t the only one to notice it and not like the journalism because of it.
Confirmation from an unknown source means a lot. She does try to look and sound younger.. And both are equally disturbing. The “look” part of the equation goes right to her wardrobe. The leather jackets and miniskirts are just terrible, not to mention the dangling earrings and super glow lipstick… She’s a good looking woman for her age (71 at last check), so she is probably a G-MILF to many. But that voice, that Sesame Street delivery explaining every minute detail, and her child-like giddiness during portions of her interviews makes me want to throw something at the TV.
Tonight was especially annoying because of the subject matter. Gah! Why can’t 60 Minute reporters retire? They all work until Death Do Us Part.
If I was her stylist, I wouldn’t go with her choices as my own top choices. I think the earrings often look a bit tacky, for instance. But, tacky or not, she seems to like them and is having fun with her own sense of style, so I think that’s actually pretty great. There is no age limit on doing your own thing.
Because this is the type of board that appreciates this sort of thing: her name is Lesley, not Leslie. I discovered this while looking for a clip of her online, since I don’t have any interest 60 Minutes.
Unfortunately, there aren’t that many, and the couple I looked at were inconclusive.
And yes, Shodan, the OFF button would solve the problem, however turning the program off doesn’t help me get the information I want. Sunday, she was talking about the 9/11 museum and memorial. The subject matter was interesting, but her reporting of it is terrible and distracting. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve turned 60 minutes off because of her.
Lukeinva. Her lipstick is indeed a mess. She certainly should have someone fixing it on a regular basis.
Dogzilla - I see a resemblance!
To all: my apologies for spelling her name wrong. I never knew that until now. Not that I care, but I do like to be as accurate as possible… Even on a zero like her.
