60s era cars on the street in Dearborn hgts

Every year in Detroit we have a huge 60s day for old cars. Originally it was the North East side only. that show goes on next week. But ,the west side has theirs one week earlier which is this week.
From about noon until the wee small hours of the morn, everybody with an older car drives down Telegraph Rd. You can not believe how many old cars are being worked on in garages until this weekend. GTOs ,Mustangs,57 Chevys and much older and and all kinds of cars peel up and down the street. I walked my dogs down the street which i am 2 blocks away from. There are also antique cars and all kinds on Corvettes.
They peel out at lights and race a little. the cops of course ticket the ones that lay rubber for a block. If you like cars it is a great day.
Every restaurant sets up tents on the street and people line the street all day drinking and partying. Loud speakers scream out 60s music and it is a fun day.

Sounds like fun!

I went to a Goodguys car show in Puyallup yesterday. I figured a few hundred cars. How about over 2000 of them. Everything in every style from 1903 to 1972. I was there over 4½ hours and I know I didn’t see them all. If I had the money there was a 65 GTO convertible that would have looked real nice in front of my house. I’m still kicking myself in the butt for leaving my camera in my car.
