If I’m not inventing this memory, I seem to recall something on late night TV, probably a movie, with the above scene- a decent size snake, bubble bath perhaps, woman may or may not have been in tub. It would have been in the 70’s and in color I think. Anyone know?

Sounds like Deadly Blessing, with Maren Jensen as the woman in the bathtub. Google Images can link you to the shots of her nude in the tub with the snake.
Maybe “Shivers” aka “They Came From Within” (1975) from David Cronenberg?
I remember this scene because of the horrible continuity errors. In several cuts you could see that Jensen was wearing a black pair of panties in the tub. Considering she was supposed to be taking a bath, you’d think the director and editor would have put a little more effort into concealing the fact she wasn’t really naked.
Ach! They Came From Within is the one I’ve been trying to remember. Not a snake though. It was a blobby, slug-like thing, and it crawled up . . . I don’t even want to think about it!
That was my guess, too. I remember catching that weird movie (about a murderous kinda-quasi-semi-Amish sect) on HBO in its early days. I had a big crush on Jensen back then, from her role as Athena in the first Battlestar Galactica. She dated Don Henley for a long time, IIRC - even did some backup vocals on his album “Building the Perfect Beast.”
I didn’t think there would be more than one- it could be any of these. IIRC it was like, cut to bathtub filled with bubble bath and water, then cut to woman preparing for the tub in another room, cut to snake slithering out of faucet into water, then not sure if she got in the water or not.
My first thought was Cronenberg’s Shivers/They Came From Within/The Parasite Murders, too, but I don’t know if that’s what the OP had in mind. In Shivers etc., the snaky/leechlike thing came out of the bathtub DRAIN, not the faucet.
By the way, the recent movie Slither has a scene that I have to believe is an homage to the one from Shivers (hey! Even the name’s similar!), but the leech-thing in that case doesn’t come from either the drain or the faucet – it crawls up the side and into the tub. (And the heroine manages to kill it before it can do anything).
No definitely the facuet, and definitely a standard long snake, not a Cronenberg creation

I totally remember this movie and this scene, because I like bubble baths but am terrified of snakes.
She’s in the tub and then a snake slithers out of the faucet and then she picks it up with her leg and it’s just revolting. I think more snakes come out of the faucet also.
There’s also a barn full of snakes, IIRC. My dim recollection is that it was like The Birds, only with snakes instead.
There was also a movie called ‘SSSSSSS’ (can’t remember how many S’s were in it). Lots of snakes in that one.
