70's Red Tape Recorder - Remember?

Does anyone know where I can find an online picture of my old '70s tape player/recorder? It was the first one I ever saw that wasn’t the flat kind like you might see in school or at the library. It was shaped kind of like a lunch box (including the handle), but the edges were rounded. It came in designer colors (red, white, blue, yellow - I think). Mine was red. I think the manufacturer was Panasonic. The print ads for this item featured Jimmie “J.J.” Walker. I can’t remember if it had an radio included or if I would just set it next to my hi-fi speakers and hit “record.” Man, I put together some great tapes in those days.

Any information? Anyone? I’ve tried Google and Ebay but came up empty. This tape recorder was truly “Dyn-o-mite!”

Mods - if you think this doesn’t belong in CS feel free to move it with my apologies.

Are you sure it wasn’t an 8-track player? I had an old bright blue Panasonic 8-track player that looked like a dynamite plunger. You would push down on the handle to change the track.

Here’s a picture.

No, it was definitly a cassette player, but that eight track is cool!

In the early 80’s my friend had one that looked a little like the linked one below:

$50 get’s you this liquidated “retro looking” Panasonic machine.

JohnBckWLD, you have made my day. That is definitely the one. For anyone other interested parties, here are more pics of the red model, and the blue model.

Thanks!
