72 grams of sugar in the McSmoothies.

I think the title says it all, but I am math impaired. That would be the large Berry smoothie.

What is that in engrish so I can share this info with my young padawans.

That’s about 2.5 teaspoons of sugar, less than a tablespoon. Really not so bad for a “sometimes” treat.

Actually, I found an online conversionthingie and it is equal to 15. Considerable difference.

From my brief perusal on the web, I am seeing about 4-4.5 grams of sugar per teaspoon or over a third of a cup per McSmoothie!

I find numbers to be difficult to relate to sometimes. Although, try to imagine adding 15 tsp of sugar to your uberjumbo coffee.

For comparison (sugar content only, other nutritional differences ignored):

A 12 oz can of Coke has 39g of sugar.
An 8 oz glass of Orange Juice has 24g of sugar

Dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard (medium) has 74g of sugar.
Dairy Queen Hot Fudge Sundae (large) has 75g of sugar.

Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar - 24g of sugar
York Peppermint Patty - 25g of sugar

A large-sized coke has 86 grams of sugar, not including refills.

That treat is almost 300 calories

Yiu obviously have not bought enough illicit drugs. That’s about 2 1/2 oz.

he he

It still strikes me as funny that not everyone knows that 28.35g = 1 oz.

Yeah, sometimes I need to catch myself before blurting out instant conversions.

Or 3 1/3 human souls!

McSmoothies contain human souls!

Now do shamrock shake!

Shamrock Shakes don’t have any sugar. They’re just dirty mop water, green food coloring, “thickener,” and whatever it was they put in Tab.

Actually, according to CalorieLab, a McDonald’s smoothie only has 42 grams of sugar out of a total of 45.9 total grams of carbohydrates. According to the World Health Organization, that’s 84% of the recommended daily intake. That’s a lot of sugar! Although on the plus side, it seems to be natural sugar from the milk and fruit. HFCS is not listed as an ingredient

It doesn’t really matter once you get to that level of processing. Eating fruits and breaking up cellulose layers digestively can spread out the GI impact, but sufficiently broken down fruit sugar is pretty much the same as any other sugar.

Mob water is ok. Green Food coloring probably cauases cancer, though.

Nah, green just makes you horny. That’s why St. Patrick’s day is so great!

Whatever it is, it must be what makes them so good!

I don’t have my sport’s bra on!

That just means you do the hippy hippy shake.
