72 year old woman marries 26 year old man(and then it gets weird)

Well, the other words are part of the narration, and the switching of “mom” to “mum” isn’t particularly strange, since they’re practically the same word anyway. Those don’t tip me off that the story is fake, just that the writer is from the Commonwealth. But no American, unless they’re an unbearable Anglophile, is going to describe a couple as “brilliant”.

It’s a hoax, and not even a very well-perpetrated one.

When reached for comments, God stated “I had nothing to do with this one.”

What’s wrong with this guy that he can’t attract a woman his own age?

Why did you use those two descriptions together? blows chunks

I think it has to do with the little fact that HE’S BANGING HIS FREAKING GRANDMOTHER.

How in the world does Ireland define incest, then? Anything beyond siblings or parent-child is OK? They’re related to the same degree as half-siblings, or uncle-niece, both of which are considered incest in most of the civilized world.

It does have a whiff of The Onion but I hope not. I’m a sucker for good love story.

“Well, just remember, boy, no matter how badly you get treated in this world, your grandmother will always love you.”

This is AWESOME.

No, I’m not sure why.

thumbs up

Incest in Ireland is governed by the Punishment of Incest Act 1908.

The Act makes it illegal for a man to have sex with a woman who he knows to be his granddaughter, sister, mother or daughter.
A woman is not allowed to have sex with a male who is her grandfather, father, brother or son. Brother and sister include half-siblings.
Max punishment for a woman is seven years, max punishment for a man is life. (which sucks).

The act would probably be unconstitutional if challenged due to the difference in punishment for the genders.

A granddaughter-granddad relationship is forbidden, but not a grandson-grandmother relationship, as the main focus of the Act was to prevent the corruption of the blood, not as a moral judgment - a grandmother is unlikely to become pregnant whereas in the case of a granddad there may be life in the old dog yet;).
Think of it as Ireland being all liberal, progressive and non-judgemental:D.

The reason that there is no inclusion of same-sex incest is that when the Act was passed, sodomy was still illegal.
