Topical humor? at the oscars?? in spite of Jon Stewart Hosting? Now I’ve seen everything!
This is a nation in dire need of editors.
I’d love to see Steve Carell host. He’s freakin’ awesome. Also, the presentation by him and Will Ferrell was the best sketch yet.

The transformation thing they showed for this award was cool and really showed off the skill of the nominees. I liked it.
Between the green unitard and the makeup jokes, the humor is just about as lame and goofy as it gets.
What a dipwad of a winner the male was. Yes, Sendek, Wild Things, your third grade teacher, the guy who fixed your scanner… SAY THANK YOU AND GO! YOUR PARTNER WANTS TO SPEAK TOO! (Instead she was cut off before she got a syllable out.)
Best Supporting Actress now - Rachel Weisz - as expected by most of those I read.

Board’s fast for me. Hate the elevator music also, but loved the scientology bit. No Cruise?
What a nice speech from Rachel. And she looks gorgeous.
But why is J-Lo presenting?
Will Ferrell and Steve Carell, goofy? Never! Yeah, it was a sight gag, but it was pretty funny.
Rachel McAdams looked weird. Yellow is not her color (that refers to her dress and her hair). How did she get tapped for that presenter job?

She was great in an overlooked picture. Good choice and concise speech, less political than I thought it would be, but her comment about “they’re better people than I” was an understated commentary, I thought.
I love David Straithairn. I know he probably won’t win, but he’s a cool dude and he did a great job in GN&GL.
I like Rachel Wiesz, but I don’t think hers’ was the strongest performance of that lot.
I must have missed it. What was the “Scientology bit?”
I don’t think this is true. I’ve always liked her and I think she’ll be offered more and better roles after this win… at least I hope so.
As they cut back, Stewart was talking about how great Scientology was. 
The Technical Awards show (which is usually a couple of weeks before the big show) is almost always hosted by a young actress. Kate Hudson and Charlize Theron have hosted it in recent years. It’s one of the ways that the Academy can get any press about it.
Overall people don’t care about who wins the Gordon Sawyer Award, but a lot of people want to look at Rachel McAdams.
They came back from commercial and Jon was saying that Scientology was perfect for the country, then he spotted the camera on him and did the whole “Oops!” bit.
Rachel: Liked her in The Mummy, loved her in About a Boy.
Oh, I liked it. I was surprised when Abby started complaining to Bob Iger about Disney splurging on her costume and the fact that Donald Duck doesn’t wear pants. Who expected Disney characters to be so edgy?
Looks like Lauren Bacall’s first day with her new feet…
