Everything’s better when you can gamble on it.

I like the Erroll Morris intro talking to a lot of the nominees. It reminds people that few of the nominees are big time stars. The majority of them are just folk, working in the movies behind the scenes. These people are why I never want to see the Oscars get rid of showing the “lesser” Artistic categories. These people are what the Oscars are all about, not the glitter and fluff.

Gore 2000 joke: shot

Ellen is doing great so far.

Peter O’Toole’s wife/companion looks like a Kabuki actress. Scary.

Okay, this song thing makes me want to get hammered right now in hopes that the pain will go away.

Note that I typed that BEFORE Ellen’s intro speech.

Drink, Drink, Drink

Art Direction? Don’t they usually give away a Supporting Actor award first?

{{comes running down from the bathroom, what did I miss?? Hitting the back button on the dish controller to catch up}}

Daniel Craig and Nicole for Art Direction: Pan’s Labyrinth!

Yay, Pan’s Labyrinth.

YES! One for Pan’s Labyrinth.

A great and beautiful looking movie.

Jesus Christ, Maggie Gyllenhall is hot.

Maggie Gyllenhaal talking about the Scientific and Technical Awards.

I’m surprised Nicole Kidman said “and the winner is…” For the past decade or so, winners have been announced with the phrase “and the Oscar goes to…” I wonder if there was a change, or if it was a fluke.

Okay, those dancers forming an Oscar was freakin’ awesome.

Interpretive dance (very short, thank goodness), introducing the backstage announcers.

Commercial now. I’m surprised one of the Supporting categories weren’t given first.

Hooray for Pan’s!

Cute iPhone commercial with lots of scenes from movies of people saying “Hello” on the phone.

The “And the winner is…” surprised me too. We’ll know next category if it’s the thing now, or if Nicole just screwed up. Daniel was hot! I love Nicole but I don’t like her dress.

Okay, even as a straight female I have to say: Nicole Kidman looked hot. Except for the big bow eating the back of her neck.

I think our drink word should be “thank.”

Oh my OG! Will Ferral is singing! What is with his hair! :smack:

Jack Black and Will Ferrell not being funny.

You know, they constantly complain about going over time and then they spend time on crap like this.
