Yeah, I’ve had a headache for eight days off and on. It is accompanied by severe nausea/vomiting and sensitivity to light. I went to the doctor yesterday and she gave me a shot of Toradol which did little but knock me out. I am in a bad mood, I cannot concentrate on work, and I just want this to go away.
My friend at work gave me two Midrin today. They did not help. And I’ve also had five Vicodin. I know it may sound like I’m overmedicating, but I swear I cannot take this anymore.
I suffered for years with headaches/migranes, with one doctor suggesting I have a CAT scan. My family physican tested me for allergens, and it turns out I was allergic to grass, cedar and pine pollens. I rarely have headaches anymore, provided I take my med’s during allergy season.
Can you go to a headache specialist? I hear they do wonders for chronic migraine sufferers. They can check all sorts of things to determine what type of headache you have and what your triggers might be. It might be worth a look. Feel better soon!
(and, oh yeah…I’ll take care of any extra vicodin…)
I’ve been where you are, only for 3 months. Get your allergies tested, go to a nero etc. In the meantime, try and rest. Trying to work with a migraine is really hard to do, and you are making extra stress, which can make the migraine worse. Take a few days off and rest your head. Just get oodles and oodles of sleep.
A coworker of mine recently had a 3-week-long headache. When she went to the doctor, it turned out it was a sinus infection. Your doctor probably checked for that, though.
Well, I thought it was sinus related too, but doc checked and I guess she didn’t see anything much.
Last night I went in and they gave me a shot of Demerol. I was pretty out of it. My bf drove me, so when we left I suggested we go eat. While at the restaurant, the shot kicked in and I tried to go to the bathroom to throw up, but people were in there, then I fell down in the foyer. Lesson learned: Do not try to do anything on Demerol.
The headache subsided for the night, but it’s back today. It’s not horrible, but it’s there. I took some allergy tablets and some more pain meds. I feel I’m being treated for my symptoms, but not for the cause. I guess I’ll wait and see what happens before I try any more docs.
