First of all:
This is NOT a great debate.
This is NOT a pit thread.
Today is the 1st of July, 2001. Eighty years have passed since the beginning of the political uprising against the corrupt Kuomintang Imperialists.
It took 28 bloody years of struggle for the Chinese people to expell the Kuomintang and establish a Proletariat government.
I, for one, would like to remember those who fell in the Long March with respect. If you care to soil their memory, do so in the pit and don’t expect me to show up.
I’d like to end this tribute with a translation of a poem by The Great Helmsman:
Ninghua, Chingliu, Kueihua–
What narrow paths, deep woods and slippery moss!
Whither are we bound today?
Straight to the foot of Wuyi Mountain.
To the mountain, the foot of the mountain,
Red flags stream in the wind in a blaze of glory.
--- Mao Zedong
