9/11 moment of silence was observed at 8:46 except for the Today Show

I can’t speak for the people who lost family on 9/11, but I imagine that’s how I’d feel.

Why does the moment of silence have to be on that day and time for a particular person or company? Because tradition and or social duty dictates?

Companies and people are free to pay tribute ANYTIME they want and, for the most part, any way they want. I’m sure NBC and people had lots of coverage or personal memories devoted to the tragedy and memorial at various times this week. The fact that some didn’t do anything at this particular minute of this particular day shouldn’t be considered a sacrilege.

Chill out people.

Which is a better line?

I’m so sick of 9/11 that I wish it never happened.

I’m so sick of 9/11 I almost wish it never happened.

I’m so sick of 9/11 sometimes I wish it never happened.

That’s nice. I guess you wouldn’t care whether your SO/mother/whatever died tomorrow of natural causes or was killed by a murderer. Dead is dead after all.

Different types of death are not equivalent.

He kinda doesn’t have to do anything much. You trivialized the death of those on 9/11 by equating it with the mundane deaths of people on the roadway. You offended him so much that he risked a warning for you. And now you’re proud of yourself. That kinda speaks for itself.

And you’re trivializing the deaths of people who die in “mundane” ways, as if it matters when someone you love dies how many other people died at the same time. And in doing that, you’re managing to trivialize the lives of 9/11 victims, who apparently only matter because they happened to die on 9/11.

It’s much better to die on TV. Strangers act all concerned and sympathetic.
