Anyone happen to catch 9/11 on CBS last night?
After all the stink made of airing this special, I thought that it was respectfully edited. I did, however, think I was going to have nightmares because of the sounds of the bodies hitting the awning and ground. The looks on those firemen’s faces were absolutely heartbreaking.
There is a thread about this in Cafe Society.
Hope this makes it over to this side of the pond. Sounds like it shows a side of that horrible day that a lot of people haven’t seen yet.
Even reading about the sounds of those poor people hitting the roof is terrible
I watched the entire thing and I agree that it was really well done. In light of my highly cynical nature (and my grave opposition to some of the actions the government has taken post-9/11) it was sometimes easy to forget how this whole mess started. And I was happy to see that the footage was edited and done without a trace of hateful politics or grandstanding. Just the heroics of people who put their lives in danger to save as many people as they could. And who do this every day.
Normally, a thread of this sort would be moved to Cafe Society, but since one on this topic already exists there, I’m going to lock this one off.
