9/11 Truther Debunking Required

I actually came across a truther at work today, which was a real surprise. The conversation was civil, and he did show some familiarity with anti-truther arguments. A couple of my points seemed to register. I said that planting weapons of mass destruction would require complicity from a far smaller number of people than what he was proposing.

My question is, what’s the best source for debunking the common truther arguments? Is there anything better than this Popular Mechanics article?

Quite a few useful links can be found here:

I’m sure some of them aren’t working any more, but a lot will still be useful.

Either that - or simply ignore them.

Yeah. . . as has been said about many other things in life, it’s like trying to teach a pig to sing. It’s a waste of your time and it bothers the pig.

I had never seen that site before, hella interesting!

Thanks for the link

Don’t bother. You will never convince them. Just walk away. They’re like real-life trolls…the simple act of responding to them merely encourages them; the best thing for all concerned is to ignore them completely.

http://911myths.com/ works well for most arguments truthers might have.

He did say that a couple of points seemed to register, so this might not be a hardcore believer.

Thanks for the links, I’ll have a quick at them and decide if they are any better than the Popular Mechanics piece.

I’m not optimistic I’ll make much impression, but you don’t know until you try. Some CT believers just haven’t been introduced to the counter arguments (I did once have success with a moon landing conspirator). I have no intention of getting drawn into a long dialogue.
