90s alternative rock sexpots

Maybe generous to include them as part of the 90s (they formed in 1999) but A Perfect Circle had Paz Lenchantin on bass. Totally awesome and super hot.

If you look at the lineups for the 1997-98-99 Lilith Fair, I’d say at least 1/3 of the main acts qualify as “hot.” I’ll let individual posters construct their own Venn diagrams of who fits into the alt-rock/hot intersection.

Harriet Wheeler of The Sundays.

Kim Shattuck (The Pandoras 1983-90, The Muffs 1991-)

all of the above plus Monique Palmer from Save Ferris

She might be a bit of a downer across the cornflakes early in the morning, but Dear God she’s a beautiful woman.

Kim Shattuck
Johnette Napolitano
Kat Bjelland
Melissa Auf der Maur
Kim Coletta
Liz Phair

I had to look it up, I guess Evanescence is more of a 2000s band (they formed in the 1990s but their breakthrough album wasn’t until a little later.) Amy Lee was a cutie though.

Kim Gordon and Louise Post (who I went to High School with) already mentioned, but not already mentioned - Nina Persson from the Cardigans. Telling that I didn’t even like the song but would watch the video for Lovefool just to stare at her.

Toni Halliday from Curve:

Alison Shaw of the Cranes.
Sarah Utter and Maggie Vail both of Bangs
D’arcy Wretzky

Kelli Dayton Ali from the Sneaker Pimps and solo

Inger Lorre from The Nymphs had that mad as a sack of bats hotness.

Funny thing about her: without makeup and seductive clothing she really isn’t all that. But put some makeup and sexy clothes on her and the transformation is remarkable. For such an otherwise plain girl, she really knows how to turn it on when she wants to.

Looking plain.

And turning it on. (Videos, so NSFW due to sound.)

Sorry for the double post. I thought I was editing the original which duplicates the first and third videos. The third video (in the second post) is especially fun - a funkadelic-esque song with Bootsy Collins that shouldn’t be missed.

“Plain” may be too strong an adjective to describe Kelli Ali but I see your point. Glammed down, she’s still attractive but just “cute” rather than “sexy”. Also, if I may be completely sexist (in a thread that was sexist fromt he get-go), she does have a nice figure.

Incidentally, has anybody noticed how modestly dressed most of these women now seem? While they certainly weren’t afraid to express their sexuality, female alternative rockers from the 90s look like nuns when compared to the waves of pop-tarts like Britney and Rihanna we’ve had over the last 15 years. (Yes, I know I’m old and decrepit. Just let me go sit in my rocking-chair and wait my turn to die.)

She really is cute. In the Spin Spin Sugar and Play with Bootsy videos she reminds me a lot of this killer cute girl (but with mid-60s-era clothing and hairstyle) who worked for my father and who became my first love. She was 4 years older than me (19 to my 15) and could wrap men around her little finger almost instinctively. It wasn’t fun being in love with such an adorable (and prolific) heartbreaker but we had lots of fun and I smile when I think of her to this day.

I always thought Gwen Stefani was an extremely beautiful woman whose fashion sense and personal style completely neutralized her appeal. Just my opinion.
I never followed her or even heard much of her stuff but from what little I saw, Liz Phair was pretty attractive.

Pretty much.

And an ill-fated tour with The Pixies!
