I tried searching for this old thread (apparently 2006) but the boards would not cooperate. I don’t recall ever seeing a resolution to this case on the board, but I, today, found some information that I would like to share for anyone interested.
Follow thislink to a story on the settlement to the family and there is another link in the story regarding the outcome of the investigation.
If this was reported, I apologize for posting duplicate information.
Thank you Andy L for posting the link to the original story. It appears that some of the original speculation in the thread, was incorrect. The officers involved were prosecuted and convicted and the family offered a settlement. Maybe Atlanta police will use different tactics from now on.
The thing that is so galling to me is that on top of the entire atrocity is no one has said WHY they targeted her home. Some speculated the cops had the wrong address but IIRC they never admitted such a thing. What an enormous waste of resources and humanity, in the name of what?
I’m going to have to add *aftermath *to the list of words I wouldn’t want associated w/ my obituary or coroner’s report.
