A bad day could've been very bad. Like seriously injured bad.

So I was driving to the bowling alley today, to get in my four games of practice. I had been raining here in Nashville most of the day, and the roads were slick. Anyway, I’m heading towards the bowling alley with quite a bit of traffic on the road(school had just let out, and I had just gotten out of a school zone). I’m doing about 20, and I notice the guy in front of me hit his brakes hard, then stop suddenly, hitting the person in front of him. I hit my brakes, but skidded cause of the rain, actually picking up speed. I cut my wheel hard, ended up going over the sidewalk, into a ditch. I’m freaked, and pissed, thinking I’ve ruined my car.

Then I look up, and see the car that was behind me hit the car that was in front of me. Both were larger trucks. It could’ve been a lot worse.

Anyway, a quick winching job later, some minor body damage, and a realignment, I’m good to go. So it ended up ok.

Of course, I meant **it[/]b had been raining. I’m not the rain god. At least, not yet.

Glad you’re okay diku.

That’s a ditto from me. Sounds like it could have been very nasty indeed. Were the other drivers OK?

Selective crashing…I like it.

Glad you’re okay, diku.

What’s your average, BTW?

Good to hear you’re OK. But I gotta ask: how does one pick up speed whilst braking, skidding or not?

Well, very glad you’re okay.

Very lucky escape, glad you’re okay. But how early does school start in Tenn.? The little kiddies are back in the classroom this early? Or do you have year-round school? I thought my sister’s state went back early, and they don’t start til next week. Nebraska, by the way.

Anything can be achieved by the application of wit and determination.

Such as getting out of a pick-up-truck sandwich. Good for you. Better to be ditched than squished.

But let me know when you figure out the Rain God thing, 'kay?

I’m glad you’re ok. It sounds like you followed the advice of the man who taught me to drive: “If you’re at the point where you can’t avoid hitting something, aim for something soft.” May none of us ever have to make use of that advice.

Well, as far as I know, everyone was ok. Just some messed up cars. I also had to have my tie rods done, but I still feel fortunate.

And my bowling average is about 130, which is why I was going to practice.
