A belated introduction from JRFRANCHI

I will look into Stonewall Jackson today and try to educate myself on him. I hold my comment on Patton as our greatest field general in the 20th century.

To build Brio trains was my excuse to finally be a good Scroll Saw. I made us of my router for making the tracks. My drill press was used for Axle holes and features. I built a custom wheel holder to shape 4 wheels at once on a stationary belt sander and finishing sanders of course. I Painted them with good old Acrylic Testors Paints. I used both wooded wheels and Steel Washers as wheels. Magnets were an experiment in progress; I finally found the perfect ones for the last few trains I made.
The Tracks were made of hardwood and the trains from clean pieces of 1x2 pine.

Campion: thank you, I always enjoys your posts. You have a fair view on subjects and argue and debate instead of bash and insult. I admire these traits.

Sunspace Thank you very much

Yankee and Giant fan? I’ll let you stay. If you’re an Islander fan too, then I’ll I see what strings I can pull towards getting you a coveted “Charter Member” title. [sup]1[/sup]

Be welcome. Enjoy your stay.

I just wanted to welcome you, too. I’ve seen you around recently, and I’ve like what I’ve seen.

You get my manuscript OK, dude?

I promise to read it thoroughly and hopefully supply a useful critical opinion on it.

D_Odds: I am not eligible. I lost interest in and gave up on Hockey. Last Year was the final blow. Worse yet, I was a Ranger fan.

Thank you **Siege ** and Khadaji

silenus we may need to start a new thread. Stonewall Jackson was never a US General and even as an American General I haven’t seen proof he was better than Patton. He was great in both battles at Bullrun but doesn’t seem to heve a whole lot more to his credit. Additionally wasn’t McClellan his opponent in both. I think he is considered one of the worst Generals the USA ever had.

Just one little push before it falls of the edge.

We just might. Let me think on it. I 'll see if I can get an appropriate GD thread started in a day or so. But notice I didn’t say “General.” I said “Commander,” and I hold that any number of Civil War officers, on either side, were tactically equal to if not superior to Patton.

Just for reference, check up on the Shenandoah Campaign and Fredericksburg.

Was? WAS! Inconceivable and unacceptable. Hockey needs you back, if only to see the Rangers defeated in OT by the Islanders for the first time in their last 10 games.

Heh.

If I got interested in the NHL again, I would probably lean towards the Devils. Local team and all. Islanders play out in that place that beyond my reach. I can get to Baltimore or Philly quicker that Nassau. The “LI express parking lot” is a nightmare I don’t inflict on myself.

Could be worse.

You could be a Leafs fan.

How could being a Leafs fan be worse. Rangers have 8 straight seasons w/o Playoff appearance and in those 8 years were either 1st or 2nd in payroll. That is pathetic to the max. They had made every possible bad trade and deal. It was like they looked for them. The Dolans disgust me.

8 straight seasons?!? Come back when you’ve gone 37 years without a Stanley cup…

We went 50 years. That was a good run. I do sympathize with you but I just think the Rangers are wasting money like no other Hockey team.

He did say 8 straight seasons without a playoff appearance. As my high school ice hockey team could have made the playoff cut in the NHL, that’s saying a lot.

Consider they have 1 championship in the last 60 years.
They have the benefit of the most valuable market.
They have thus been really creative in maintaining such a high level of “Suckiness”.
The Jets do much better and they don’t have the benefit of more money than other clubs.
