Seriously? I can’t imagine going from “better sedated” to “drugged into submission”. Even as snarky as I can get. But I forgot. SDMB forbids snark now. What a change we have undergone in a few short years.

I interpreted it akin to asking if someone was off their meds. That aside, this beef about sanitization of the SDMB seems to be a recurring theme.

So now lazy posts are worth a warning? Lazy sarcastic posts? There are going to be a lot of warnings going on. Or else the SDMB is going to change a great deal. Some of us come here for the sarcastic lazy posts!

I guess pretty soon we won’t have any controversies here, or any disagreements, or anything that might be insulting, or a “trigger” (whatever the hell that is) and won’t it be all butterflies and flowers. Whee.

So mocking people who have spent weeks and pages and pages criticizing his behavior and accusing him of “triggering”, whatever that is, mocking these folks is now against the rules? We’re going to be so PC pretty soon that there won’t be any point in coming here. No mocking? Sad.

I see now we have 2019’s contribution. In any event, the rules haven’t changed in GD and Elections in a long time. Intimating that this is something new misses that context. When making arguments in GD and Elections, it is always my recommendation to focus on the underlying issues, and set aside personalities. Only to the extent one’s personal experience or some specialized knowledge may contribute to the discussion are those items relevant. Most times though, it could be easily extracted from arguments.
