A book that gives a foreigner's (Taiwanese?) perspective of life in the US...

So, my girlfriend’s birthday is coming up, and as part of her birthday present, I’d really like to get her a book about moving to the US. She’s Taiwanese, and we’re living in Taiwan, but after a couple of years we plan on moving to the US (I’m American).

Anyone got any suggestions? I would like it if it were a book that gave a personal account of life in the US, but also that gave practical advice to someone who wants to spend a considerable amount of time there.

I don’t want it to be a book that is for someone who has never lived abroad. We met in France, and she lived there for three years (I only lived there for a year and a half).

As an added bonus, if anyone knows of any written in Chinese, I would be greatly appreciative…Then again, she’s going to have to practice her English (it’s a little rusty)…

Thanks in advance…

It’s not what you’re asking for, but the book Coping with America is hilatrioous. It’s America as seen by a Brit:

When I searched for it, this one came up as well:

I haven’t read this particular book, but I did read Culture Shock: Australia and Culture Shock: New Zealand, both of which were packed with practical information.
