Yes, your description of who got punched is more accurate.
I do not know that the fourteen year old was doing nothing wrong. The article only said that he got punched while trying to “intervene” between the passer-by who got egged and the ten-year-old who egged him. I got the impression that the fourteen-year-old participated in the beating.
If the fourteen year old was trying to defuse the situation, he did not deserve to lose a tooth. If he was trying to defend the ten year old who started it all, or participated in the beating, he did, and worse.
Which does not affect my point that concealed carry laws, in this case, might have prevented a murder. Who’da thunk it?
