A+ Certification Self-Study Suggestions

After twenty years in Helpdesk/ Application Support I was laid off. When I was last out job hunting I believe A+ Certification did not exist, now it appears to be an absolute requirement to apply for any comparable positions.

I am consistently hitting eight out of ten questions right when I take on-line practice tests but I am weak in network terminology. ( I am damn good at supporting a specific application that they don’t want me supporting anymore.)

Does anyone have suggestions for the best self-study guide or course for A+ Certification? I do need to be very budget conscious at this time.

Thank you.

This one comes highly recommended, and if you shop around, you can easily beat the quoted price:

Reading that made me shutter. I could only take it for like 2.5 yrs before I wanted to kill everyone and everything. Anyway, I got my A+ in 1998, which is ALMOST 20yrs ago (gah, really? I’m old), and yes, there was still windows 3.1 questions. Anyway, I’m not sure of study aids around now, but back then I bought a fat book from CompTIA and read it.
