Thunderboomers are a-rumblin’. We have yet to see if this is just another stormtease like the last twelve have been. Seriously, it rains everywhere else but in the tiny corner of NoAsheville where I live. Who has the anti-rain ray and how can I break it?
Dental visit went well, but I need to return for a filling on June 23. rah
We’ve had supper, ran to WalMart, and now we’re home. I’m off to knit and veg.
Howdy Y’all! Corned beef 'n cabbage with potato patties (latkes?) made a good dindin if’n I do say so myself. I used half of a big head of cabbage and made the rest into coleslaw for tomorrow. I’ve also been to Evening Prayer. I’s pooped!
Ima go mess on teh intartoobz a bit and then go beddy bye.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Did I killded the MMP?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 97 for the day. Where’s my sweater?
Ok, I got nuttin’ else this mornin’. Thus I shall go seek more caffiene and also feed a very demandin’ rumbly tummy. Also, alas, irk purtification must commence at some point.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Huge storm here last night. Part of a tree is down across three neighbours’ front lawn.
I’m up before the kids and working very hard. Sitting here. On the computer.
Huge storm here, too. Going to be a hot one, then the weather breaks for awhile!
We have a 20% chance for some rain this afternoon. Cross your fingers!
Last night I made such an easy supper! I took two chicken breasts, cut them lengthwise, then pounded them out thin. Seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and herbs de provence. I lightly browned them in a bit of butter and olive oil. Removed and covered with foil. I deglazed the pan with white wine, reduced down, and added about 1/2 cup heavy cream and some capers. Reduced a bit more, added the chicken back in to warm through. Yum! Moist and juicy and creamy. Served with rice and steamed frozen “Mediterranean” veggies.
It’s supposed to hit 100 F in NYC today - and almost that bad on the Guylindt.
bleh
That sounds yum Rebo! We have a 20% chance of rain here also. I ain’t holdin’ my breath, however. :dubious:
EEK about the storms LiLi and Soapy! Hope the damage is minimal.
Oh and howdy from irk!
your Thursday morning LOL (spread the word, please, I want lots of votes - I am determined to get to the front page. ![]()
Blurf, and So Happy It’s Thursday. It’s Virtual Firday for me.
Y’all have to read this. (totally SFW, except possibly for the guffaws coming from your cubicle) ![]()
I laughed, Rosie! And I voted for your kitty, too.
Anthony Weiner seems so formal. Can we [del]Ant[/del] and just call him Hony Weiner for short?
Okay, we’re getting a Saudi Arabian guy in two weeks. He’ll be staying a month, and he’s 21. I just looked up a little about Saudi Arabia and food and customs, although I do not plan to conform. I didn’t know much about the place except it’s a kingdom and very Muslim.
Anyway, I have baked bread and tidied and should do lots more housework while baby sleeps.
Rosie you are responsible for many <snerks>, snickers, giggles and guffaws I hear comin’ from various places at irk right now. Ok, I did spread the link around but I wouldn’t have done it if you hadn’t showed me, so it’s your fault, not mine!
Also, I voted!
LiLi stock up on poke and likker. Since he ain’t home he might feel like some sinnin’.
There is an inservice day tomorrow. I got told I could either go to the inservice or if I wish take a day off. I have opted for the day off. Like I had to think real hard about that one, right? I plan on yahd irk and then I get to spend time on the phone findin’ out why OYKW is not gettin’ a wireless connection at his place. I told him I’d get it fixed since it won’t happen unless I do cause he couldn’t care less even though he’s payin’ for what he ain’t gettin’. He really is a Luddite!
Ok, back to irk.
Almost the weekend! This has been the longest week eveeeeeeeeer!
Booked a bunch of vacation stuff yesterday for when my sister comes over so I have that to look forward to - Yay!
I laughed rosie
It’s pretty funny- I actually have about fifteen pounds of various kinds of pork around. Our friends who’ve been doing the international student gig for years says it’s tons of fun to take Saudis out drinking. Dunno if they’re cool with pulled pork. If he doesn’t want to eat it, then there will be other options, but it’ll be on the menu a few times this summer. I love pulled pork.
hot hot hot hot muggy hot hot humid hot hot hot sucky hot hot!!!
Home. I ran by the grocery store and grabbed a couple of steaks for supper and a sack o’ salad. The steak is sitting in a puddle of worcestershire and onion and garlic and pepper. I’ll do N.O.T. and onions-n-mushrooms. Ice cream for dessert - I finally remembered to buy some.
I had to go to a supervisors’ meeting today, since boss-man is out. I took some notes and shared them with my coworkers. That’s about all I accomplished today. Glad tomorrow is Firday. We’re going to do something with the balloons in the boss’ office.
Hilarity will ensue!
I have a poke tenderloin marinating in Kraft sundried tomato vinagraitte, and I shall make Crash Hot N.O.T. to go with it. (Mr Rebo calls it Smashed Taters.) And some sort of green vegetable matter.
