The I stayed up until midnight just to post this MMP

So I’m starting this before midnight
but it will probably take me until midnight to finish it.

It’s 77 degrees and dark outside.

I’m sitting here typing away, while also playing Words with Friends and watching Thriller.
Not the one with Michael Jackson, the one with Boris Karloff. Tonight’s episode is fairly boring so it’s not keeping my attention.
Sunday night is when I get my weekly* Columbo* fix. Tonight’s episode was one I barely remembered starring William Shatner as the murderer.
Then there is a half hour of MASH, which I could take or leave.
Then Thriller is on for two hours.

I have a hard time liking MASH. For some reason Alan Alda reminds me of my ex-husband and even though I’ve been divorced for  almost 33 years, anything that reminds me of my ex still makes me feel a bit queasy.

So this is what I do most of the day. I log in to work and in between calls I play Words with Friends, read the SDMB, surf the net and watch TV.

Oh cool, the Chief from Get Smart has a role in this episode.
Too bad I haven’t been paying enough attention to know what it is about other than some guy running around with a body rolled up in a rug.

I got to get past the grumpies. I don’t know why I’m grumpy, no good reason, just am.

So there it is
it’s past midnight and it’s mundane and pointless.

Does that mean that you’re working now? And, more important, is it legal for me to post if it’s not past midnight PST (my zone)?

Second!

Had to irk an odd late shift due to having the rest of this week off (until Sunday, anyway…). Yay!
I’ll share my bee swarm story shortly.

Home safe

So tired after the hell show but we made it. Went to the bar and shall have a beerverage here at home and sleep the sleep of Kings.

Cheers all

Jim

I am at irk, and it is irksome as usual.

Yesterday was an exceptionally idle day due to serious cocktail consumption the night before! Much tellybox stuff was watched, I had the second season of Borgen (Danish political drama) to finish and also managed to watch the last two episodes of season 2 of Justified. It was a good way to spend the day, I can’t say I achieved much apart from finishing off stuff I was watching, and cooking chilli last night, but I survived through to Monday.

All I need to do now is make it as far as Friday then it’ll be payday!

the baby is sleeping but I’m not. WTF is up with that?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a balmy 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 91 and scattered showers. Guess the cool snap is over.

Sari thanks for gettin’ us started. I live to volunteer. :stuck_out_tongue: ΔΣ I think you should step up and volunteer right now for next week. I done learnt how to make them fancy Greek thingys usin’ character map. Go Me!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Hmmm. That Jedi handwave thing really works. ‘Imma not the thread starter you are looking for.’ (and thanks :))

I’d welcome you to the grumpy side of the force but it’s called the grumpy side for reason you know. I don’t what it is and I don’t give a damn either but don’t forget it.

This is what happens when I miss the MMPs for the past couple of weeks! Babies arrive, and I don’t even know it. Congrats, Apes and Apelet! Boy? Girl?

Not much happening here until the end of the week, when we take our kid to orientation for college.

Happy Monday, all!

You mean like I did in the last MMP?? :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: Day late and a dollar short, bear!

It’s a mere 72° in my back yard, but it still feels like a sauna. I foresee a short day of outdoor work. We’re going to try to get the garden border done today and I’d like to get everything in the ground, but we shall see how long we last. It’s supposed to hit 90° today, and I bet the humidity matches the temp. ugh.

When I stopped by last week to pick up my whopping check from May ($31.35) the clerk asked if I could sew. One thing led to another, and I’m making some dish towels from flour sack material. I’ve made some iron-on decals and some stencils of local stuff - well, sorta local - blue crabs, steamed crabs, black-eyed susans, and a silhouette of an Amish buggy and horse. Dunno if they’ll sell, but I figured it’s worth a shot. The clerk said folks are looking for things that say “St. Mary’s County” So we shall see. I should be able to get some to her by the end of the week.

So today will be sweaty and artsy - that works for a Moanday!

Happy Monday!!

Blurf.

What he said.

VWife really POed me yesterday with her all day nag-o-rama, so the practical upshot of this is I walked to irk today because she needs the VunderCar, and my walking would really piss her off. (It’s going to be 90 degrees today. You’ll DIIIIIIEEEEE within 200 feet of the front door at work if you try to walk home in that horrendous heat!!! :insert the pantheon of smilies here: )

Yes, there is a point to all this. On my normal route, I pass by the back end of a city park that has a very bad reputation. During my year with this ambulance squad, my crew picked up 2 different mugging victims, and this is not a rare occurence. As a consequence, when I walk to irk, I have some implements of badassery on me just in case. So this morning, as I was going by the park, my eye caught some motion in the brush as I was passing the park. My hand went immediately to my hip for my badass thingy, then I saw it completely. Doe! A deer! A female deer!

I have seen them in my neighborhood on occasion, but to spot one that far into town was quite

Happy Moonday!

It’s 72 degrees here with a projected high of 90.
Can you tell FCM and I come from almost the same place?

When I put the dog out it felt miserable outside, I can only imagine how much worse it will be later.

I am up too early but I guess I am up.

Y I wasn’t working, I should have been but doing customer service work when one is grumpy is not a good thing. I don’t know the rules about posting before midnight, all I know is had to wait until After Midnight.

You’re welcome Swampy and ΔΣ. (C & P can be your friend)

I think I shall wallow in my grumpiness a while longer and then get moving on my day.
I have to watch piddle pup for a week starting Sunday and I may as well just stay there for the week only coming home to shower, sleep and check on Sah-dog and Sah-son.

Irk-ing, and caffeinating, and already sorta bored.

Just me and the Cute Secretary today - summer time and the living is slow.

I went to see Man of Steel Friday. Go. That is all.

Just made a cup of coffee with my Keurig and forgot to put my cup under the spout.

I hope things get better from here.

I’ve seen it twice already. I loves me some Superman, even if half the world is pissed off about it. I thought it was excellent.

Had a comedy of errors getting down to the wedding on Friday, what with a terrible manicurist and traffic and my roommate not giving me back my EZ-Pass so I had to scrounge up change for all the tolls. But I saw a mess o’ cousins I haven’t seen in seven or eight years, and that was quite nice. However, has anybody else noticed that weddings are just too danged loud these days? I don’t know if I’m just getting older, but it would have been nice to have a conversation without having to yell at the person right next to me.

Saturday night I went to a friend’s birthday party and ate too much. Then yesterday I spent a lot of time working on painting panels for a quilt, realized I had screwed everything up, and then had to re-cut, re-trace and start repainting all the panels. But it went much faster this time, so I’ll call it a win.

Both cats are definitely infected with the corona virus, which at least saves me from having to make a decision about putting Sirius down to save Khan. Khan is perfectly healthy with the exception of having this thing, so I’m not currently worried about him. Sirius is still not leaving my room much, but he’s eaten everything I’ve given him and seems to be feeling okay. Hopefully, now that Roomie’s boyfriend is on his way home and out of our house, Sirius will come downstairs and stop being so antisocial.

And may I just say, woohoo on no more houseguests. I like Roomie’s boyfriend, but more than a week is too long to have anybody in my house. I’ll be glad that there’s some room for me on the couch again.

Happy blurfy Monday, everyone.

Are you Bartles or Jaymes?

How do you think the ramas feel?
Won’t someone think of the poor ramas? :frowning: They’re nagged, they’re bowled, they’re laundered, they’re pizzaed!
Save the Ramas!!!
Yllaria, once a new MMP has been started, it’s fair game to post in it.
I think I may need to close the winders & turn on the airco for the first time this year. :frowning:

How was Wildwood, assuming you’ve already been?

Not too much happening here today. I’m waiting for them to come fix the internet which, of course, is working right now. :smack: It usually does work for a couple hours in the morning and then quits for awhile and drifts in and out as it feels like it. They came out a month or two ago and did nothing because it was working at the time and it started behaving again. I hope they’ll actually fix something today.

After that I get to try to figure out how to solder pewter or maybe just drill holes in it. Haven’t decided yet.

I can’t even summon a blurf. I just don’t care.

I met my great-niece on Saturday. My sister (her grandmother–how can I have a sister who is a grandmother???) said “isn’t she cute?” Of course she’s cute! She’s an Olson! And even if she wasn’t the cutest baby in the world (sorry Apes), I wouldn’t say “no, she looks like Lyndon Johnson.”

It’s 70 with predicted high of 86 and rain. Apparently the entire U.S. of A. is a sauna.
