The I stayed up until midnight just to post this MMP

Morning all.

I has a blurf. Weekend at the parents was spectacular though. Went for 2 boat rides. Friday night we just went tooling around the Miles River. Saturday we actually went over to the Kent Narrows Bridge and docked and had lunch at The Bridges. Docking was an…interesting experience. We got help from the Coast Guard. Now that sounds way more dramatic than it actually was. The Coast Guard just happened to be docked next to where my dad was trying to park the boat and they hopped off and helped us figure out where to put all the lines so the boat didnt rub up against the dock as the current was rather strong. Also compounding the experience was that my dad didn’t bring enough lines to tie up with so we had to improvise by taking some lines off of the bumpers. Also the boat was rather low compared to the dock height so getting off and on was one of the most undignified things I have ever done. But lunch was fantabulous, drunken clams and mussels in a pesto cream sauce. The day was just beautiful, 80s, clear, light breeze, you could see for miles. Came back, shopped around in St. Michaels and then my mom made the best crab imperial evah! Used local lump crab freshly caught and picked (not by us but local company). OMG! I have a serious case of the noms just thinking about it.

Now back to the mundane but have that beautiful memory to think about.

I went for a drive on the Parkway Saturday and I saw the first d’oh a deer I’ve seen since leaving the Vast Swamps of the East four years ago. Fortunately it was in the other lane heading up into the woods. Ten miles down the road I saw a woodchuck, too, but I see them all the time.

I need to do laundry and get a new pair of shoes today. I hate shoe shopping.

I was up late last night attending some shows/plays.

Oh yes, and I drank too much and wet my pants. But it’s not what you think -

I drank too much sugar and caffeine. And it was hot out, and I was sweaty, and my pants got a little wet from the sweat.

Humph.
Travis McGee don’t need no help tying up when he takes a girl to a seafood place.

Wildwood is this Sunday. I’ll let you know!

What? Not getting ready for tonight?

After which you came home and parked in a driveway right? I could not resist.

It’s the last week of the program year. Thus I am amassin’ well, masses of stuff for an annual report. Ok it’s not that bad cause really all I have to add in is stuff for June and then summarize for the year. Plus most of that is all computerized except for the verbiage that must be included. Verbose I can be so no problem there.

I hope you fill out your reports the same way you post on here/

Monday mawnin all and a happy one to you, even if it is no longer morning in your current location

I slept in a Kingly manner and shall proceed to enjoy my day off. So there :stuck_out_tongue:

Food and more caffeine are required.

Flytrap If you have not cleaned the house yet, I urge you to just burn it down and explain the outside sofa by claiming that you saved it from the fire.

Good advice does not come cheap, you owe me

Jim

It has come to my attention that I’m in a terrible mood today. But when I go home tonight I can sit on my couch without anybody else taking up space and that’s improving my outlook tremendously.

Oh, good idea!
Thanks!

SEE??? You NEEDED that coffee!

Any time, we Mumpers have to look out for each other:D

In the Bambi department, last Thursday Vorlon Jr was driving his grandmother around after dark and just before he got her home had Bambi bounce off the front of the car.
Changed underware was had by all.

Harpy Moanday, everyone!
doggio, final playoffs must, I say must go to a game seven, and *that *must go into at least double OT. If you’re not on the verge of a coronary by the end of regulation, you just ain’t having enough fun!

Morning, all.
I can hazzzzzz honeybees?!

The day before yesterday, the lady sangfroid called me at irk to tell me that there were a lot of bees flying around the chimney (there’s a slight space where, over time, the chimney has pulled away from the siding a bit in places - not unsafe, just somewhat unsightly), and they appeared to be swarming there.

Yep.

Had us an honest-to-god honeybee swarm setting up camp just outside the dining room picture window. Thousands of the little buggers, and they were starting to accidentally infiltrate the house through a tiny hole around the wood stove that I promptly filled with quick-set foam. We only had a few dozen bees in the house, and were able to vacuum them up pretty easily. A few survived the process.

See, wasps, I don’t care for. They is mean. Honeybees, on the other hand, are in dire straights these days, and need all the help they can get. I absolutely did not want to eradicate them unless absolutely necessary, as we really need our bees.

As in, no bees, no food for humans. They’re really struggling due to a variety of issues from climate change to Varroa mites to colony collapse.
Anyway, I checked our local bee keeper listings, and called around to find someone who might be able to help. Got a call back from a fellow who would come by in the morning to see what he could do. He also told us that often, honeybee swarms, being rather particular about their homes, will often just ‘camp out’ for a night until their scouts find a more suitable home in a tree cavity or some such place (they are quite particular - certain size aperture; cavity size able to accommodate a hive-supporting comb; access to nectar/forage, etc.).

We waited and hoped.

They left!

Next morning, most all were gone except a few stragglers.

Nice. I hope they found a place nearby, because we really need them for the gardens, berry bushes, life in general…

Enjoy your week, everyone! I am off irk for the next six days.

PICS!!

Aww man, I want bees, you shoulda called me :frowning:

I ain’t got much today, cos I’ve been sat inside all day with 13 people, with approximately 9 brains between them- about 5 had their own, the rest split them.

I know that’s a terrible thing to say about my fellow man, but it really boggles the mind that so many of the group repeatedly did the exact thing they had just been told not to do, despite being told very clearly over and over…
I think I may permit the chip shop to make dinner, 'cos I’ve got juggling club tonight, and I can’t be bothered to cook before then.

Sari unfortunately one must write summary narratives in an erudite and civil manner. This makes for a real yawnfest for both writer and reader. However, one must do what one must do to make it as factual and boring as possible.

And this is why it qualifies as irk.

Nuts you could just go swipe the General’s dindin. It ain’t like he ever gets to eat it anyways.

I think “juggling club” may be the most joyful phrase I read today. Because that sounds like an enormous amount of fun. Until I remember I can’t juggle and get frustrated and leave crying, but I suppose that’s why I don’t go to juggling club.
