It seems that, in their subsequent posts, @We_re_wolves_not_werewolves is specifically trying to defend the Roman Catholic Church when they refer to “the Church” in their posts, and arguing that Catholics do not treat women as second-class citizens. They have acknowledged (including in replies to me) that there are non-Catholic Christian sects which do so.
You can still study home economics at many normal public and private colleges; usually it’s called Family & Consumer Sciences or something similar. It also provides alot more career opportunities than homemaker. At this school it’s literally called Marriage & Motherhood; available in 2 or 4 year options along with a 1 year Missionary Wife Diploma. Looking in the Student Life section among other thins the mens’ dorms have better electrical systems than the ladies’ dorms (but ladies have extra closet space). Ladies don’t appear to be allowed to have cars on campus; transportation to locations is provided for them. The sad thing is that for many women in the Fundie world this does look like freedom. None of the Duggar girls would be allowed to go here.
yes, thank you for this clarification, but I see this side discussion is kind of getting pretty far afield from the OP, so I’m going to drop it at this point.
