A Congenital Eye Abnormality

Any pediatricians, ophthalmologists, or other doctors have any insight into this eye abnormality?

Mrs. Homie as a baby. Note the very narrow eyes, especially compared to her brother. No, she’s not squinting; her eyes really looked like that. Her dad, however, is squinting.

Mrs. Homie as a young girl. Still not squinting. Her eyes are slightly larger; she’d had several surgeries by this point (and more would come).

Another pic of her as a young girl. Still not squinting.

As an adult. You can see that her eyes are still small-ish, but she’s sworn off further surgeries at this point, saying that she doesn’t really care that much about it any more.

Anyone familiar with this eye problem? What is it called?

It’s pretty difficult to tell what the issue is from those photographs. A congenital “small eye” is called
“microphthalmia”:

However, people with microphthalmos generally don’t have normal vision. My guess, and that’s all it is, is that she has a lid abnormality rather than microphthalmos.

I knew a whole family (father, and his two daughters and one son) with something like this. Their eyes looked just like your wife’s.

Their eyeballs were normal but the opening of the lids was abnormally small. All of them had no vision problems, none of them ever had surgery, and while it was unusual-looking they were good-looking people. Don’t know what it’s called.
