Look at the smile! And those beautiful green eyes. I like spiders, but it’s rare for them to even look like they’re smiling.
Cute.
There is no such thing as a cute spider.
Shudder
I ordinarily agree, but if there were- damn, that would be it!
I hate to disappoint, but I think that may have been photoshopped. It appears to be missing eyes.
According to this site, it appears they actually look like that.

This fact my no means qualifies the little bastid as “cute.”
That’s not real. That’s too cute to be real. If you check the back it’ll have a tag that says “Made in Japan.” 'Cause only Japan makes things like spiders cute.
Awwww…
<squish>
Yeah, he was kinda cute, wasn’t he?
Cute in a surreal way. Does it also stretch out its arms and say, “I love you this much.”
Salticidae spiders are my favourite wee spiders - two of their eight eyes are forward facing and large, and they have stereoscopic vision. If you go up to them and move your hand back and forth they will turn to face you and follow your hand in an inquisitive manner.
They’re also smart, for spiders - some species use hunting techniques that require them to plan routes around obstacles and even lose line-of-sight with their prey. That’s pretty rare.
If those were that spider’s only eyes I’d say yep, it’s pretty cute. And it is. But what creeps me out about spiders is all the other eyes. Eyes should come in pairs, dangit.
Though the one in Neeps’ link does have lovely eyes, except that there’s too many of them.
Awwwwwww, I love his/her little hairdo. Jumping spiders are my favorite spiders. they look like little Jeeps. Yes, you can get their attention. Waving two fingers at them like the “quote” symbol seems to interest them. I think they wave legs at each other like this.
Neep’s picture is downright gorgeous!
They do come in pairs. Just more than one pair on the same animal.
Great picture, Neeps. It looks like the headlights on a 1950s-era car.
Thank god for you, Hal. I don’t have the good sense to stay out of spider threads.
Right, I’ll rephrase – one pair per critter. Four pairs? That’s just creepy.
On the other hand, I like snakes and bats and other animals that freak people out, so I know that spiders have their admirers. And I don’t mind the ones that live out of sight or at least out of reach in my house. Please, eat bugs for me. But any animal with more than two eyes just freaks me out and I don’t know why.
…restraining my “SQUISH!” reflex.
Yes, it does. It snuggles right up to you, embracing you, making a soft sound, sort of like a purr, but not exactly. Very warm, lovable, and relaxing. And when you close your eyes in warm contentment, it eases slightly upward, and pushes its fangs through your eyelid into your gooey, delicious eyeflesh.
Cervaise, I hate you.
The OP makes no sense. I understand the words individually, but together? Does not compute.
