What is the deal with the deck of 55 cards given to people in Iraq? Each card has the face of a wanted person. Are there three aces? Who are they? No one seems to explain why 55 and not 52…What am I missing?
Well add the two jokers and you get 54. Add Bush stupidity and it’s amazing you don’t get seventy sock telephone.
52 + 2 jokers + the “Poker Hands”/Advertisement/Whatever card. Buy a deck of cards and you’ll see.
It’s simple: They had 55 people they were looking for.
Unless you think they should let three criminals go free to avoid spoiling the sanctity of a deck of cards…
They probably just threw three extra jokers into the deck.
you miss the point…even with two jokers you dont get 55 cards…the media has been so careful to give so much detail about the war etc…etc… why do they miss this glaring stupid detail? Duh?
In this case, the jokers feature glossary lists – one of Iraqi military ranks, one of Arab titles of respect. The 55th card features the “decorative” desert camouflage design common to the backs of the other cards. Although the pictures on this page aren’t loading for me, you might have better luck seeing the images.
sternvogel…Thanks!!!Now that makes sense…
They need to distribute 55 photos and descriptions of 55 top-ranking Iraqi leaders to the troops. Instead of a normal 52 card deck wtih two jokers, they made a deck with three. One extra joker.
