Yes, Mel Martinez, Republican, Florida, who NPR has labeled a “moderate”, although he ran a very vicious smear campaign against Better Castor for Senate when he was elected. Apparently they really wanted a minority this time around, and feel like they can pick up more hispanics this way.
Despite all evidence to the contrary, Sen. Mel Martinez is NOT a giant ant. So far he refuses to comment on the giant slug question.
After preview: Curse you, LouisB!!!
Umm, perhaps they are not aware that the ACU gave Mel a perfect rating of 100 for his 2005 voting record? He’s about as ‘moderate’ as Trent Lott.
I’m thinking this is probably a tactic by the RNC… just claim he is moderate with no proof of such. Since moderate seems to be the strange new “in” thing for Republicans, although the most moderate Republicans lost while the most conservative seem to have won. Which is sad.
Amusingly, Steele has no claimed that it was just a sort of “Reagan Democrats”-like thing.
Hmmm…

Certainly looks like a sign saying that Steele IS a Democrat. There’s no “for” anywhere there, and the wording and typeface is backwards to boot.
Well, yes, they do, but they use makeup and latex and platform shoes to create the illusion of individual differences. Little-known fact, but when you live in Miami-Dade you pick things up. -
Put it back. You don’t know where its been.
