My little niece just turned nine. I was her nanny from about six months old through first grade. She showed an interest in science early on and I have always fostered and encouraged this gladly, as any geeky auntie would. One of our very favorite things to do was to watch Mythbusters together.
So I got a little tear in my eye today when she showed me all the things she’s been making lately: a notebook, a wallet (with credit card sections and everything), a couple coin purses; beds, backpacks and numerous accessories for her many Monster High dolls – and all of them out of duct tape.*
