OK…not me, but on a ‘members only’ page today, someone I know was kicked out with proclamations that the person had threatened another member. Without going into great detail, the person I know seems to have been set up in being removed.
That’s no great shakes in itself, but what about the public accusations of ‘threatening another member’? The person I know has been shattered by the allegations, and fears his (extensive) presence on FB will be affected.
What recourses does he have via Facebook Admin to get this remedied (if any).
Whether or not he actually DID threaten someone, seems to figure in your story very little. I doubt that will be the case when FB looks at it. If they do. Which I doubt. (Based only on the tale as you’ve told it.)
Your use of “recourses . . . via Facebook Admin” suggest that you’re asking about legal rights with regard to Facebook itself. There are none. FB is not responsible for illegal or tortious shit that users post. The user who was supposedly defamed could bring a defamation action against the defamer. But, in this case, there would need to be proof of money damages.
