I need the name of a famous person with the first name “Skip”. This person could be an actor, writer, comedian, etc. When replying please state what “Skip” does.
Thanks
…There’s Skip Stephenson (Stevenson), who was one of the hosts of a show called “That’s Incredible!” that ran during the 80’s. There’s also Skip Carey, who’s a broadcaster for Atlanta Braves baseball, but his real name is Harry. He just goes by Skip since his father was also Harry Carey.
Skip Wilson – Comedian.
Skip Humphrey – Politician.
Skip Homeier – Actor.
Skip Stephenson. He used to be one of the hosts for “Real People” back in the 70s-80s. He died in 1993, after having a very short career…basically, “Real People” and guest spots on “The Love Boat” and “Hart to Hart”.
I don’t suppose you’d accept the name of my boss, “Skip” Tschanz? I thought not.
Then how about this link to a search for “Skip” on the Internet Movie Data Base. It lists 68 actors or crew members with the first name of Skip, from Skip Apple, who appeared as an umpire in “Major League 2” to Skip Young, who appeared as “Zip” in 1989’s “Lobster Men from Mars” and hosted in 1987 a special entitled “TV’s Turkeys: The World’s Worst Television Shows.”
Have fun

Just a minor note to Ethilirst: I think you’re thinking of Flip not Skip Wilson.
How about Skip Tomylou?
OK, it’s a children’s song chorus, but it sounds like a name.
There’s Skip Spence of the 60’s band Moby Grape who later did the classic solo album Oar.
Skip Gates is the chair of the African studies department (or something like that) at Harvard, the host of a PBS series about Africa that aired about a year ago, and the author of several excellent books. His full name is Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
Well, my favorite “skip” is Skip Schoolnik- editor for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Damn. I thought this thread was going to be about Wayne Middaugh.
Dang… I had no idea Skip Stephenson was dead! Are the other Real People people still around? We need a reunion!
Damn… trumped on the curling reference.
How about Punic warrior Scipio Africanus? I bet people called him Skip, if not to his face.
Yikes! Forgot to actually include the link, which is hitherto appended
My bad

As a bonus, here’s one for a formula 1 and formula 5000 driver, with his own driving school
and a bodybuilder
and something with an oriental flavor

Happy hunting
This guy’s hardly a household name, but he’s pretty well known among the low brass community: Skip Gray teaches tuba and euphonium at the University of Kentucky.
