A few questions about Jennings and Ultimate Tournament of Champions

Didn’t they? it was a heck of a list of contestants?

Yes, it was. And I’m sure they had most of them, I’m just looking for loopholes that would allow anyone else to remain undefeated. I don’t know some of the historical details, like when they institued the five-game limit. I think before that, at the end of the week you were done regardless of how many games you’d won. So there may be people whose runs stopped at 3-0, 4-0, etc. And of course some champions may have chosen not to participate in UToC or died.

Well, Brad won the Million Dollar Masters tourney and bested The Utah Buzz Saw in the Ultimate Tournament of Champions. I’ll go out on a limb and say he’s the greatest Jeopardy! player of all times.

And I was rooting for Frank!

I see Brad competed in the five-game-limit era (October 2000). Jeez, he cleaned up like that and he was only about 22? Man. You know, having seen that and 2/3 of the finals I think he has to be up there with the greatest. But I’m not sure any other achievement matches Ken winning 74 in a row. Winning two top-flight tournaments like that is remarkable, but 74 straight wins is nuts.
