A friend disappears

They broke up before he disappeared, so it’s not like she expected to be in daily contact with him at the time.

I’m so sorry for this turn of events, Candyman74.

Oh, no. :frowning:

So sorry, Candyman.

Sorry Candyman. But I agree with lieu that this sound suspicious.

I’m sorry Candyman. This is not good.

Sorry Candyman. Things look grim.

It turns out he did attempt the swim, and he did not succeed. The funeral is next week. :frowning:

I’m very sorry for your loss, Candyman.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it.

I was going to say that now in my mid-40’s taking a crazy break from my oh-so routine “that’s so unlike him!” life sounds pretty normal.

Not now, though.

I’m really sorry things turned out that way, Candyman. That’s a tough one. Remember the good times for he obviously was not himself as of late.

I’m so sorry, Candyman.

Sorry, Candyman.

Sorry Candyman, I’d been hoping things would turn out differently.

I’m so very sorry to hear that this was the outcome. :frowning:

I’ve been watching this thread and hoping for a different outcome. I’m sorry for your loss.

That sucks,** Candyman**. Sorry for your loss.

Echoing the other commenters: That sucks.

At least he was found.

I am sorry to hear that. I, too, was hoping he had just taken a break.

Indications (the letter) seem to be that he actually imagined he could make that swim. Why, I don’t know - we can only assume some kind of breakdown which put these thoughts in his head. I haven’t seen the letter personally - it was addressed to his parents, and they are keeping it that way.

It kills me to think about how he felt halfway there when he realised he wasn’t going to make it.
