A Game of Thrones (HBO series) [SPOILERS]

I am nearly certain that is the bonus scece you get fro completing the puzzle.

Brian

It is.

I’m pretty excited by the new trailer. Although I’ve been excited by all of them.

We get our first glimpse of the Wall and the Others here. The Other looked more like a wight in my mind, but it was quick, we’ll see. I think I’m really going to like Jaime and Littlefinger.

Well I may be a sucker, but I put my order in on Barnes & Noble.com. Had to get rid of some gift certificates anyway.

I’m hoping the HBO series increases the popularity of the series and encourages Mr. Martin to increase writing speed. Conversely, the popularity may make him spend more time doing media appearances, shooting on location, etc. and decrease the time he dedicates to writing…

Two new trailers out!

Meet House Stark (sorry, I couldn’t find it on HBO’s site so I linked to grrm’s blog)

And this little sexy number - Fear and Blood

Good stuff! I like what I see.

Short but interesting L.A. Times story on the producers: Hero Complex

I keep telling myself to stop watching trailers because my excitement builds with each one and I don’t want to be let down. But I can’t help it. Those “House ____” trailers are awesome. I love how the actors are so invested in their characters, I love how excited GRRM is about the show. I love the care that seems to have been taken by the producers. I get chills hearing some of those lines.

And I’m not getting HBO, so I have to wait for DVD. blargh!

There are like a billion character features on there. Does anybody think Arya isn’t adorable?

Sure, until you’re watching your intestines pool in a heap at your feet…

Hmm. How spoilerific should this thread be?

She only kills one person in the first book, right? If they continue on with the series it’ll be interesting to see how that looks on screen. A child killing in cold blood, not just in defense.

I honestly have no idea. It’s been at least four years since I read AGOT. I have the highlights vaguely clear at this point but not the details. As good as the series is, I’m disinclined to read it six times through so I’m waiting until at least ADWD is out to go back.

Audio book!

I mistimed it though. I got through Storm of Swords a while ago. I’ll start Feast in early June and be prepared for ADWD. Rereading these isn’t as bad as rereading through the wheel of time. Twice.

That’s a really good point. Unfortunately, it’s about twice as depressing, though.

I couldn’t get them to load (at least the Lannister and Targaryen ones that I tried).

There are a LOT of videos out now - family and person specific ones, as well as stuff on costumes, weapons, etc.

Just go hear and read:

Saw Aiden Gillen as Petyr Baelish in one of the promos. It’s gonna be hard not to see him as Carcetti in The Wire. Looks like he has the same haircut.

I don’t remember anything about the Baelish character. Is he a good guy or a bad guy, or a gray guy?

He is all three. He is that awesome.

Petyr Baelish is Littlefinger, if that helps.

Thanks, it does. It’s the nickname – he has his finger in lots of pies, a conspirator, untrustworthy, maybe too smart for his own good. But he did get rid of a character I didn’t like – that was very satisfying.

The show is going to be new to me. I remember stuff about the major characters – the Starks and Lannisters and Jon Snow – but everything else has faded in memory.

How many of the either of the first two have we seen in the series? Of the “main” characters I think there’s probably only one that is definitively good. There are more “bad” guys, but they’re generally smaller roles like the Mountain.
