She isn’t in the books. She’s in a short scene added to the pilot. She probably wont be anywhere else in the series as the scene just looks to be there to establish some of Tyrion and Jaime’s personalities.

The actress playing Sansa looks a little plain too. Anyway I will wait till the actual show before making up my mind about the actors. Make up, costumes, cinematography and acting skills can transform anyone.

There are four books and hopefully the fifth should come around by next year but after that given Martin's pace nothing is guaranteed. The final book may take till 2020. Will Martin write treatments for HBO's script writers to work on?
