A good biography of Jim Thorpe?

My husband and I watched an episode of History’s Lost & Found the other night which featured Jim Thorpe’s olympic medals. It struck me that my son (currently on his way to the Middle East) would enjoy reading a bio of the man.

Amazon shows two recent bios – this one from 2006 and this one from 2004.

Anybody read either of these?

I haven’t.

If I were you, I’d send him All American: Jim Thorpe. The other book is geared toward younger readers.

I’d also send along a gift card at the same time, so he can order his own stuff. All of the bases over there have internet access.

Well, duh. I completely missed that the first book was for kids. I thought I remembered seeing it on the (regular, not children’s) bio shelf at my local B&N… I must have misremembered that.

All American: Jim Thorpe it is.
