Unlike Die Hard 4, which had over 80% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, this movie is getting pummeled.
Has anyone actually seen it yet? I will eventually and I’d be disappointed if it wasn’t good. I actually think Die Hard 4 was the second best one(after the original).
It is AWFUL. I am usually pretty easy to please when it comes to movies, but this one was just terrible. The dialogue was sooooooooooooo cheesy and I think I may have cracked a smile once during the entire movie.
To me, it seemed like it was a Die Hard movie. It was a bit more predictable than some of the others, but while it wasn’t the best (DH1), it wasn’t the worst (DH2). I liked that Lucy had a couple of cameos. I’d put it on par with DH4, though I liked that one better. (It was certainly better than Hansel and Gretel, which I saw earlier this week.)
We went to the City North 14 and it was $15.75/ticket because we were seeing it in RPX, which apparently meant the screen was curved and the sound was louder. For that much, I’d wait for most anything to come out on DVD and buy a copy. Next time I’ll drive out to Skokie.
Very disappointing. It seems like they’re going to reboot the series with his sin Jack. That being said, they’ve already started working on another sequel.
Serviceable IMHO, It had alot of potential to be a ‘fun’ movie, and instead just didn’t quite live up to its promise.
I did like the twist that the prisoner was actually the bad guy here and the ‘bad guy’ at the beginning of it all turned out to be (apparently) not so bad.
I’m still not quite sure what Jack’s plan was for the initial escape - did he have the scoop about the escape that was to happen or was it just dumb luck on that part? He clearly had planned some escape (the van was parked close by and the timing of the drone/etc was way too close otherwise) -but that is never revealed.
Was that the same SUV that John was driving as was being driven by MoneyPenny in skyfall? thats a seriously capable spy car.
Jack new the PM was going to blow the courtroom to have the guy killed and they based Jack’s escape plan on that (apparently the missile drone was supposed to cover the van until the rendezvous that would get Yuri out of the country immediately). John’s arrival blew that plan, so they aborted and re-routed him to the safehouse.
