A great weekend to be a Boston sports fan...

Our bloved Sox shellacked the tribe last night, and I’m hopeful we’ll do it again tonight. Back in '02, when we won the World Series, broke the curse, and restored the faith of a generation that the Sox could actually with the big game, I thought (and a lot of us did) “Well, at least I got to see it in my lifetime”, cause a lot of Red Sox fans didn’t. Now I’m starting to think we may see it happen again!

And what can I say about the Pats that isn’t on everyone’s mind (at least here in New England)? Super Bowl, here we come! As a matter of fact, I thik tomorrow’s game against Dallas might just be an early preview of this year’s Super Bowl, including the winner - New England! I’ve never seen them play better than the last five weeks.

Tonight, the Sox, tomorrow, the Pats.

Boy, it sure is a great weekend to be a Boston sports fan.

Sorry to gloat.

'04. (And you call yourself a fan. Bah!)

:smack:

It’s even worse than that. My son was due to be born on the day the Sox won the series, so I base the date in my mind on his birthday.

You know, the football community (we as fans, the analysts, the broadcasters) always hype “Super Bowl Preview” games like the one between New England and Dallas, but I might go do some research as to just how many of them ever ended up being true. I’d guess maybe around 2%.

I agree, but at least we can count on the NFC to show up and stink.

all bosox fan know we own the early years of the century. we won in the begining of the 1900’s and so—we shall win in the begining of the 2000’s.

it is the 20’s through the 90’s that there is trouble.

So, losing 5-3 is your idea of gloating?

It, of course, may change.

And now Manny brings it all back. Just remember, you got him from Cleveland.

Ingrate.

Hmmmm. Boston, now 6-5. I"m getting pissed.

Not only that, the Celtics are about to open their season with Kevin Garnett on the team, and the Bruins haven’t been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet!

It would have stung less than losing 13-6.
