Our bloved Sox shellacked the tribe last night, and I’m hopeful we’ll do it again tonight. Back in '02, when we won the World Series, broke the curse, and restored the faith of a generation that the Sox could actually with the big game, I thought (and a lot of us did) “Well, at least I got to see it in my lifetime”, cause a lot of Red Sox fans didn’t. Now I’m starting to think we may see it happen again!
And what can I say about the Pats that isn’t on everyone’s mind (at least here in New England)? Super Bowl, here we come! As a matter of fact, I thik tomorrow’s game against Dallas might just be an early preview of this year’s Super Bowl, including the winner - New England! I’ve never seen them play better than the last five weeks.
Tonight, the Sox, tomorrow, the Pats.
Boy, it sure is a great weekend to be a Boston sports fan.
You know, the football community (we as fans, the analysts, the broadcasters) always hype “Super Bowl Preview” games like the one between New England and Dallas, but I might go do some research as to just how many of them ever ended up being true. I’d guess maybe around 2%.
Not only that, the Celtics are about to open their season with Kevin Garnett on the team, and the Bruins haven’t been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet!
