The time: just before Pearl Harbor
The place: Maybe Madison Square Garden
The event: A meeting of the German-American Bund (or maybe America First, or maybe a Lindbergh speech)
The key player: A female reporter or columnist, from the New York Times
So the Nasty Nazi gets up and starts talking to the assembled crowd. The reporter starts giggling then laughing, ruining the speech.
Did it ever happen, or am I confusing it with a rerun of some old movie?
