(I posted this a year ago, but it is a subject near to my heart.)
The Shriners are the guys in the funny fezzes and the miniature police cars at parades are a branch of the Freemasons.
Our charity is the care of sick and crippled children. In the United States and Canada we have a chain of hospitals dedicated to free care of these kids.
They specialize in the treatment of burns and orthopedic injuries that cripple children, but any child is eligible for care without regard to family income, religion, race or documentation status.
If you know a child who needs help, call us. We provide free transport to the hospital best equipped to make an evaluation.
Always remember, it is good thing to do. And young mothers can be so grateful!
Wow, that’s terrific. I’ve seen shriners all my life, but I honestly never had any idea what they actually did besides ride around in funny little cars.
We have a friend whose step-daughter was severely burned in a house fire at age 3 or 4 (she’s almost 7 now). She is still undergoing treatment for her burns, but without the Shriners, she’d be much worse off. Tis a wonderful thing they do!
