Good News: The replacement part for the washing machine arrived yesterday, and the guy came over at around 6pm to install it. 
Bad News: After he left I (finally) started my laundry, and when I went to move the clothes to the dryer at ~8:40pm I discovered that the washer had stopped running right after the tub filled. Again. 
I texted him immediately, and he’s coming back this evening (~5:30). I didn’t want to let my clothes soak for 21 hours, and I’d need to move them eventually anyway for the second repair, so I hand-wrung each item as best I could and put everything in the dryer. I’ll properly wash that load after the machine is fixed for real, but at least the clothes are dry and safe in the meantime.
I was pretty grumpy for a little while, but had regained my “que sera, sera” by the time I went to bed – or so I thought, but then I slept horribly: it took forever to actually fall alseep, and I woke up at least twice for no apparent reason. And my alarm went off a little earlier than usual this morning (a new hire started and I needed to get to the office early just in case his laptop, etc., wasn’t in place), so today I is tahred.
In happier news, I spent a lot of yesterday playing with Lego and I completed 3/5 of the Keith Haring Dancing Figures. 
Also, the proposal I’m supporting got a deadline extension this morning: not ideal, because I’m really ready to be done with it, but at least now I won’t have to work tonight. I should be able to build figure 4 tonight and figure 5 tomorrow night, and bring them all to work on Wednesday.
Phew!
