Pretend you live in a world, where you can either have internet, or television, and not both. Which would you choose and why?
TV because talking to people can be done with the phone and information can be looked up manually. I like to rent movies too, can be have Web Cams and DVD drives?
The internet. I’m one my computer a whole lot more than I’m watching TV, although I often do both simultaneously. Plus, my parents would still have TV so I could just go to their house whenever I needed a “fix”. As far as movies go, I usually see them in the theater when they first come out.
And Goose? Phone bills, if I called everyone I “talk” to online as often as I “talk” to them online, my phone bill would be outrageous. And I very rarely use the internet for information. So, yeah, I’d choose the internet.
Whoops. On. I should go to sleep.
Computer. No doubt about it. Thank god for MPEG.
It was a hard decision, but I really think I’d pick the internet. As someone else said, if I didn’t have the internet, my phone bill would be out of this world, and now you can download film clips, listen to the radio, and watch tv on the internet. Is that cheating? Well, it’s a definite vote for the internet.
Internet. I gave up TV 100% ages ago. At least with the Internet I have some control over what I choose to view during my trek through the Vast Wasteland!
Would have to agree with internet…having all this at my finger tips is far more entertaining than the pointless sitcoms that takeover the television at night! And with live web cams what could be better!
The Internet indefinitely. I don’t watch tv much anyway. You can get your news, information, stocks, order things online…you can do pretty much anything online. And a tv? Well, you have to just sit and watch a tv. Besides, I’d have to wear my glasses then. :^)
(I do watch British comedies on Saturday night though…)
I do not own a TV, so making a choice would be rather easy for me. The only time I watch television is durring football season. I go to the local pub for that.
Osip
No question. There isn’t a thing I can think of on TV that I can’t get in some way on the internet.
Of course, the sampling process of this survey is somewhat biased…
