A is for...

anywhere, which is where I’d rather be.

A is for Ahem!Bboy !?!

Antidisestablishmentterrianism. (sp?)

Just exactly what does that word mean, anyway? Is it really a word? I heard it when I was a youngster, and it stuck.

Antidisestablishmentarianism

A is also for that damn catch phrase from Zero Wing.

It’s a doctrine against the dissolution of somethingorother. The exact definition is in my Richard Lederer book back home, and that’s all I remember of it right now.

Alligators all around
Bursting balloons
Catching colds
Doing dishes
Entertaining Elephants…

ASS WEASELS!!!

Ok, let’s break this down…
ism: an Idea
anti: against
dis: see anti
establishmentarian:1. member of the social establishment: a supporter or member of the establishment in a society or social group 2. member of established church: a supporter or member of an established church

So, antidisestablishmentarianism means the idea of being against the destruction of the church of what-have-you.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Allemande left, swing your partner
Now it’s time to do-si-do

Axlotl…I just like saying axlotl…

A is for AETBOND417 and Ataraxy.

A,a

  1. the first letter of the Roman and English alphabet; From the Greek ‘alpha’ , a borrowing from the Phoenician.

  2. a sound of A or a.

  3. a type or impression for A or a.

  4. a symbol for the first in a sequence or group.

(Well, whaddaya know? Until I copied this out of my Webster’s I had no idea that I’ve been misspelling “Phoenician” wrong all of these years. You learn something every day.
Maybe THAT’S why I didn’t get that job at McDonald’s in 1983. I’ve always wondered…)

Acid, not the burn through your skin type

Tomorrow, I’m going to the ‘West Coast Premeire’ of In The Blood. Lori Suzan Parks started writing “Fucking A” a take off on The Scarlet Letter, which eventually morphed into In the Blood.

“Fuckin’ A” is a better title, IMHO, but this is a great piece.

One of the actors slipped me a script.

Plays are Ear; Movies are Eye. What Parks does with silence in this play is way cool; if the director, Peter Dubois, is up to it, this is going to be awesome.

& he hasn’t let me down so far, so signs are good.

A to me has always been red.

Not to get nitpicky or anything, but it’s spelled angina.

A is also for asparagus.

Robin

Aborigine.

I am really wondering why that was the first A word that came to my mind.

You think that’s weird? My first A word thought was Acetycholinesteraise.

I think that’s the spelling…
Yeesh.

[hijack]being an antidisestablishmentarianist meant that you were against the United States separating from Britain during the revloutionary war:

anti- against
disestablishment - separation / dissolving established ties
arianist - believer in

guess I did pay some attention somewhere in american history…who knew?
