Credit this joke to The Economist, but I think it’s a hoot!
Here it is . . . .
A South Korean, a North Korean and a Japanese are sitting in a restaurant. The waiter comes up and says: “Excuse me, but I’m afraid we have no more meat.” Perplexed, the North Korean asks the waiter, “What’s meat?”
Even more puzzled, the Japanese asks: “What’s ‘no more’?”
Most puzzled of all, the South Korean asks: “What’s ‘excuse me’?”
I simply had to share this.
To those of you who want an explanation, here it is.
South Koreans throw away more food than North Koreans eat, hence the North Korean not knowing about a complicated food like “meat.”
The Japaneese are seen as the best off country in East Asia, not knowing the meaning of “no more” because they always have more in Japan.
Apparently, South Koreans are quite rude. Thus, the punchline of this South Korean joke.
