I love all of the books in Brandon’s Cosmere universe, and this is just crazy! He wrote 5 extra books (that we know of) during the pandemic, and his Youtube video introducing the Kickstarter was the #1 trending video on Youtube for a time!

(ETA that’s pushing towards $250 per backer average, or $50 per book.)
I don’t think you appreciate how popular Sanderson is. He may be largely unknown to the general public, but among fantasy fans, he’s one of the most beloved authors working today.
Look at the reward tiers. He’s selling more than just the books.
And of course people are angry that he is successful without being an activist for their favored social movements, or may potentially support ones that they don’t like.
So, Brandon just teased something else for tomorrow!
