Akatsukami - I think naming the skunk “Festus” is hilarious, but that’s only because of where I’m from. South of St Louis is a town called Festus and is the target for most of the local inbreeding, slck-jawed yokel jokes.
pugluvr - It can be any sex I choose, since it’s technically dead and all. But I don’t get the “Hepzibah” reference. Is it a reference to something or just a name you pulled out of your ass?
Ya gotta be old to get it, Crunchy. The French lady skunk in Walt Kelly’s strip “Pogo” was named Hepzibah. Mamselle Hepzibah, to be exact. You know what, it never occurred to me before typing this – both Pepe Le Pew and Mamselle Hepzibah are French cartoon skunks. I wonder if Chuck Jones copied Walt Kelly or vice versa?
