Driving by to say hi and wish I could hang out and play with you all. Today has been rush, rush, rush, and it’s now 3:00 a.m. and the congress[del]idiots[/del]people are still blathering in my headphones, demanding that their not-so-golden words be put down for posterity to [del]ignore[/del] stick in an archive somewhere next to the Lost Ark. Gah.
Anyway, no time to read or catch up to what’s happened today, so hugs, yays, boos, etc. as appropriate. And now back to the last of this [del]drivel[/del] work. I want to go to bed and get some sleep, dammit! But I can’t till I’m done.
Will you settle for early-morning crew, Roo? Heh. It rhymes.
Up early again to get off to work on emergency, few-day project. Ugh.
I’m hoping not to have to work Saturday and Sunday, but it looks like I’m going to have to work part of Monday. (Which makes me feel spoiled cuz I know doggio, for instance, works a whole lot more hours/week than I’m ever likely to.)
beebs, you made me smile. Did I tell you you were in my dream a few days ago? Or someone who claimed to be you was there. Just a cameo appearance. You stopped by in front of a door and told me something.
I’ve had breakfast. Guess I should go in search of my shower.
Hi Roo - I’m technically nightshift, but I’m being a bit absent today. Got lots to do and not enough time to do it. I was hoping for a bit of peace to get on with stuff since Tin Knickers isn’t here today, but things are conspiring against me.
I just want to go home. Perhaps I will finish early today instead. I have to stop off on the way home to get something for dinner tonight. What goes nicely with champagne?
And now for my traditional Valentine’s Day greeting:
**OOOOOOH…
I’M SENDING MY NOSE TO ARIZONA!!!
I’M SENDING MY LIVER TO PERU!!!
I’M SENDING MY KIDNEYS TO SYDNEY!!!
BUT I’M SENDING MY HEART TO YOOOOOOUUUUUU!!!
**
Romantic ain’t it!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. We don’t the whole Valentine’s deal either. However, there’s on sale chocolate to be bought! Now that’s sump’n to celebrate!
I’ve been busy at work… and busy stealing minutes from it to send E-vals to many, many people, but couldn’t get everybody in, so I’m using this opportunity to wish much love to everybody in the MMP
Happy V-Day all! Made little goodie bags for the kids as we always do. I amused my son to no end becuase his had white out, pens and sharpies in it (plus chocolate and candy). He loves that stuff but was very amused to get it for V-day. The little girl got lip smackers and a protracter. She’s been asking for one.
We’re odd, but happy.
Too sick to do anything with hubby. Will have fun next week!
I got the cupcakes baked and decorated, and this morning, wouldn’t you know it? The middle child is gakking in the kitchen two minutes before the bus is supposed to be here.
Soooo, my sister is coming to pick up her Valentine’s and the cupcakes, and will be returning with her party stuff later.
Meanwhile, she is passed out on the couch, Jimmy is upset because he was so excited about going to her party, and I still need a shower.
Happy V-day! I got a box of chocolates - from the dogs! How thoughtful of them!
Today might be fun. My boss is being rotated back to Aberdeen (they do that in this company, every two years) and we are having a going away luncheon at a German restaurant. I’ve never eaten at a German restaurant! Wienerschnitzel, anyone?
Yeah, that part was nice. Plus my jeans were completely dry this morning (I washed them, but they’re indigo so I can’t put them in the dryer. Ceiling fan is my dryer.)
I ended up staying out until 2 a.m. last night. This is a big deal because it was a School Night. No, there was none of That going on. It was a late Movie Night. I stayed after the movie to talk to Host and Hostess and a TA who’s having a difficult time because a good friend of hers died recently. Very interesting conversation about ghosts came from that. I got to bed at 2:54 and got up again at 6:30. I work from 8-5 today and I have homework due online. We shall see how this plays out.
Happy Hearts Day MMP!
(Thanks for the card Noons! Happy Valentine’s Protractor Soapy! )
There are strange things in the depths of the university library…
The Home Ec section of the stacks is being dismantled in honor of the fact that we no longer have a Home Ec department. I’m going through a couple of books to see if the books that have been pulled are marked as something to keep. One of the books I just searched for is a “Singer Dressmaking Guide” from 1947. Please note this section from “Sewing for Infants”.
Mr. Anachi and I exchanged cards this morning and that will be that. He usually sends me flowers at work but I told him to save the money this year. After 18 years he doesn’t have to “prove” he cares.
spaz, back in '47 you wouldn’t have been distracted by TV, DVD player, or computer and you could sit listening to the radio while you hand-stitched those baby clothes. Still it kind of makes me wonder what on earth they were using for thread in their Singers that might irritate baby skin…barbed wire?
Today is my Firday. I have to use up vacation time before the end of March or lose it. I will be having three-day weekends till then. Whoot!
Oh, I know. What cracks me up is the whole attitude that “If you don’t sew for your baby you are a BAD MOTHER and unworthy of giving another human being the gift of life!”
